Can you hear me whisper through the noise?

For many years there has been a loudness war in the music industry. In fear that their music would otherwise get unnoticed, many music producers and labels have decided to raise the audio levels in released songs. In talent shows the participants who have most powerful and loud voice have often been declared winners compared to participants that use more subtle means to express themselves.

In my own music I will try to articulate my ideas more clearly and be as nuanced as possible. I will always prefer a thoughtful whisper before a mindless scream. What do you prefer?
