My cap and my glasses are statements against ageism

Let's make a quick analogy. Inhabitants of the Roman Empire had a life expectancy at birth of about 25 years if you account for the high child mortality rate. Then take a look at the music industry . Today's mainstream pop artists are expected to retire, quietly walk off the stage and write their memoirs as "seniors" when they are 25-30 years old. This is apparent in talent shows and mainstream entertainment on television. There are a few rare exceptions but I guess you get the point.

Globally life expectancy is increasing. In Sweden it is currently 82 years. This means that most people are not supposed to musically express themselves in public during the part of their life when they have gained significant experience and have more things to say.

Wearing a cap and glasses are symbols that signal old age to many people. For this reason I proudly choose to wear them as statements against ageism and shallowness. I believe that people should be able to be singers, songwriters or artists regardless of their physical age.
